Bologna and the Wind [On The Road: Chicago]

I don't know if I'd feel comfortable handing out bologna sandwiches in the building
Jerry Seinfeld (Seinfeld episode “The Puffy Shirt”)

In Chicago one place I couldn’t miss was Au Cheval. Chef Brendan Sodikoff refine diner. I have been a fan of Electric Diner in London so had to go to the place that originated the concept. Similar to the London place, or should I said the London place is similar to Au Cheval, a big bar where you can sit to have a drink or eat, some stools, and their landmark reel tape.

I new I had to get the bologna sandwich and added also fries with mornay sauce, aioli, and an egg. The sandwich is superb, definitely one of my favourites. Nothing beats these days the juicy fry bologna, with that Dijon mayo sauce just beautiful. Fries were nice and indulgent, a huge portion that easily could be shared.

A must stop in Chicagoland, I will have to dream with another trip to Chicago or get their British version in Electric Diner.
