Rossopomodoro: Un Pezzo di Napoli a Londra

If you ask to any Italian friend what is their favourite pizza in London they probably are going to send you to Rossopomodoro. So as I love pizza and one week ago while enjoying the sun in Notting Hill with two friends of mine one of them Italian, the topic was mentioned and her actual answer was “The only pizza I eat in London is in Rossopomodoro” I couldn’t resist more and went as fast as I could.

The Menu

The Place

Decorazione

All ingredients sourced from Campania, their chefs trained for years in Neapolitan pizza and cuisine, wood ovens, sounds good isn’t it? Their offer the best of Southern Italy, Antipasti, Pizza, Pasta, Insalatone, Carne e Pesce, and Dolci. All with the amazing flavours of Naples.
As a starter ‘A Scamorzetta, which is baked buffalo scamorza cheese with pancetta, mixed mushrooms in oil and grilled tomatoes. As a main the Ventura pizza, nothing can compare to parma ham, rocket and parmesan cheese shavings.

Pizza Ventura

Excellent food, brought me memories back from my trips to Italy, definitely one of my favourite pizzas in London, and the Scamorzetta really good. Will more than glad come back and try other dishes, specially on my list is the calzoni.

Margherita Story

Italy reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Maestro” where Jerry is obsessed looking for a place in Tuscany.

Jerry: Hey you know we were just talking about you.
Maestro: Oh yeah?
Jerry: Yeah, ya know the other day how you mentioned that there were no houses available in Tuscany?
Maestro: You didn't find one, did you?
Jerry: No. I'm not really looking.
Maestro: Nor should you.
Jerry: So are you telling me there's not one house to rent in all of Tuscany?
Maestro: The houses are passed down from generation to generation, it's very hard.
Jerry: I can't get a sublet, a guest room, a cot, nothing?
Maestro: It's booked solid!
Elaine: It's BOOKED Jerry!
Jerry: How'd you get yours?
Maestro: Got lucky. Come on, Elaine, let's take a ride, I was about to pop in some Verdi.
