    About Time for a Chinese

Slurping in Wimbledon

The other day I went to have diner near the flat with a colleague. The place he recommended was Slurp. An Asian cuisine take away/restaurant, having Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes in the menu, yes all of the above! The place is simple, unpretentious, and completely affordable.

We shared a couple starters, while drinking a couple Sapporos, including chicken wings, which are deep fried and served with spicy soy sauce, not bad, I love chicken wings so is quite difficult to mess with that. Then we got ribs in Malaysian sauce, not the best ones I have had.

Main I went for a noodle dish, three roasted vermicelli, roasted chicken, duck, and pork with a touch of spice, good flavour, a little bit too dry, but it was ok.

It’s ok for the price, I consider it could have been a little bit better, the food was fast, the quality ok, the starters disappointing, the main ok again, price cheap, so basically you get what you pay.

This Asian experience reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Doodle” when Jerry’s parents and family stay in a hotel room that Elaine had for an interview.

Elaine: Hello is anybody here?
Uncle Leo: They said they were sending an Asian woman.
Elaine: Oh! my God.
