300 About Nothing in Charleston

Unbelievable this is my post #300. I’m currently in a business trip in lovely Charleston so let me tell you a little bit about the city. Founded in 1670 and named Charles Town by English settlers under William Sayle. Also known as the Holy City due to the large number of churches on the low rise cityscape. The city has been recognise as best mannered, sexiest city, most friendly, and I can tell you the food is great.

Rainbow Row
Things not to miss if you are around, a walk around the Historic District or a carriage tour, admiring the Battery and White Point Garden’s mansions and in the park 18 century cannons, shop local art in the old city market, walk on East Bay street and see the Rainbow Row’s colourful 1600s houses, have a lovely diner in any of the fine dining award winning restaurants around town, take a ferry and go to Fort Sumter where the first shots of the civil war were fired, or go to see the USS Yorktown an aircraft carrier in the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime museum.

White Point Garden
Sadly I couldn't go to the beach but I heard is also nice, so don’t waste more time and book a trip to Chuck Town.

Shrimp & Grits nothing like a traditional hominy
Da Chuck reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Boyfriend”

Kramer: Wide open, I was wide open underneath! I had three inches on that guy. You two were hogging the ball
George: Me? It wasn't me I never even saw the ball. All you do is dribble
Jerry: I have to dribble, if I give it to you, you just shoot. You're a chucker
George: Oh I'm a chucker
Jerry: That's right, everytime you get the ball you shoot
George: I can't believe you called me a chucker. No way I'm a chucker, I do not chuck, never chucked, never have chucked, never will chuck, no chuck!
Jerry: You chuck
George: Kramer am I a chucker?
Kramer: You're a chucker
George: All these years I've been chucking and you've never told me?
Jerry: Well it's not an easy thing to bring up

Ute you're going to love it the food is amazing...

I've been coming in the last 4 months so I had the chance to try a little bit of everything, my favourites ones so far are:

FIG (American Cuisine)
Basil (Thai/Asian)
Slightly North of Broad (Southern)

The more traditional ones are:
Jestine's Kitchen
Hominy Grill
You have to try shrimp and grits in either of these places both are great it's like grandma cooking

Another ones that are also good:
Magnolias (Southern)
Cypress (American)

Hope this help and enjoy, I'm leaving today :(
