Panzerotti in Melbourne, Mamma Mia! [On The Road: Melbourne]

Last year culinary revelation was definitely Panzerotti, I’ve been thinking on visiting my friends in Milan as an excuse to have more of this Italian savoury pastries. To my surprise while wandering around the CBD I struck gold, I couldn’t believe when I saw Panzerotti di Cerignola miracle!

Miracle
Yes the delights from Apuglia in the centre of Melbourne, I talked with the owner Vince, born in Melbourne, Italian roots, a few months ago he decided to took his Mamma recipe from Cerignola and give that culinary gift to the Aussies.

I went for a traditional, mozzarella, basil, and tomato. Perfect, bellissimo, the flavours were just there. I couldn't resist and got also the Calabria, hot salami, mozzarella, and tomato. Again buono, gustoso, saporoso, splendido.

Ready
The taste of Apuglia
I reckon I will be eating a lot Panzerotti these days

Italy reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Maestro”

Jerry: Ah, excuse me, I'm looking for a Mr. Giggio
Giggio: Si, Si, am a Giggio
Jerry: Poppie sent me to see you Mr. Giggio
Giggio: Si, Si Poppie
Jerry: Um, did he did he mention why I called?
Giggio: Si, the house in Tuscana
Jerry: Yeah, right, right. So is there anything there to rent?
Giggio: Si. Two million lira. You give me the check
Jerry: I didn't actually want to rent it
Giggio: The keys, here are the keys. You give me the check. Two million lira. Seventeen hundred Americana. Molto generoso

Hi

I'm a Londoner with Italian routes and was recently in Melbourne. I was there the first week they opened and have to agree...The panzerotti's are completely authentic and delicious. I had them everyday! Vince - I believe there is enough of an Italian community in London who would support another store here! (not to mention the thousands that haven't yet experienced the delights of panzerotti!)
