A Mental Pizzeria [On The Road: Sydney]

Looking for a bite, quite late at night I found this place, Mad Pizza, only in Sydney a pizza joint with a DJ, loud 80s disco music Italian beer and an overdose of mozzarella. 4 locations in Sydney, with the objective to recreate the authentic Italian flavour, even though they evolved since 2004 even the name as they change from Made in Italy to Mad Pizza, they have been loyal to the Italian heritage.

That's what I call a menu
Hey where is the DJ?

After a couple beers, I went for the pepperoni one, the pizza is thin crust, dough was ok, but not too crunchy, it was an spicy salami not the classic American pepperoni, good flavour though, it also had basil and olives really nice touch, overall good and decent pizza but still I haven’t found greatness in the Australian pizza industry.

I loved the tablecloth and crayons they give you to let my artistic side playing while having my James Boag's beer and waiting for my pizza.

Pizza reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Van Buren Boys”

Kramer: Alright, so there I am at Lorenzo's loading up my slice of the fixings bar, garlic, and what not, and I see this guy over at the pizza boxes giving me the stink-eye. So I give him the crook eye back, you know. Then, I notice that he's not alone I'm taking on the entire Van Buren Boys!
Jerry: The Van Buren Boys? There's a street gang named after President Martin Van Buren?
Kramer: Oh yeah, and they're just as mean as he was, so, I make a move to the door, you know, they block it! So, I lunged for the bathroom, I grab the knob, Occupado! Then they back me up against the cartoon map of Italy, and all of the sudden, they just stop
Elaine: What? What happened?
Kramer: Because I'm still holding the garlic shaker, yeah, like this, I'm only showing eight fingers
Jerry: Well, what does that mean?
Kramer: That's their secret sign! See, Van Buren, he was the eighth President, they thought I was a former Van B. Boy
Jerry: Wow, How was the pizza?
Kramer: It was a little oily
