Burger Wars Episode LX: P&B has a new home [BurgeReview]

I remember the time when Patty & Bun was doing his pop up in Doodle Bar or even the days of the Endurance pub. The charismatic and friendly Joe working hard to give London his take on a burger, probably the same initiative that created movements such as Meatwagon before becoming a mass production.

P&B
The place
Similar menu from the beginning with a couple twists. Six burgers, wings, and fries. New location in Marylebone area, a small place with first in first serve policy. Industrial style with cardboard art, strong burger aromas, and some sort of disco music as background.

Burger Art
I had tried in the past the Ari so I decided to get another one this time. But Marisol and I wanted the same burger, at the end we decided to share halves and order the Smokey Robinson with cheese, caramelised onions, bacon, P&B smokey mayo, on a brioche. And the Jose Jose Chilli burger, cheese, chilli chorizo relish, pickled onions, P&B smokey mayo, on a brioche bun.

The order
We also shared the smoked confit wings with BBQ sauce and spring onions. They were good, but I have to say the ones in The Endurance and even in early days at the Doodle Bar were much better. Maybe a bad day? Not sure.

Wing time
Smokey time
The verdict, great burgers, they were juicy and perfectly cooked. My favourite of the two is the Jose Jose. The chilli chorizo is amazing, gives depth and plays excellent with the cheese.

The damage, 10.5 quid for the burger and rosemary salt chips

The conclusion, amazing burger, old school, these babies are for purist that want their burgers messy, full of melted cheese everywhere, a real explosion of flavour. One of my favourite burgers in town these days. The chips need a bit of work, I’m sure they can do better there. A solid 9 for P&B if he solve the chip mystery it will be a perfect score.

Patty reminds me the Seinfeld episode “Serenity Now”

Jerry: Damn it, they gave me cream! I asked for nonfat milk!
Patty: I think they have 1% over there
Jerry: 1%? They can kiss 1% of my ass!
Patty: OK, Jerry, enough. I'm not buying it
Jerry: You're damn right you're not buying it!
Patty: You shouldn't have to try. It's just being open
Jerry: I'm open. There's just nothing in there
Patty: Uh huh
Jerry: Oh, you think I'm lying about this?
Patty: I think you are
Jerry: Well, I'm not
Patty: Yes, you are, liar
Jerry: Oh, stop it
Patty: OK, liar
Jerry: That's enough!
Patty: Ooh, that was good
Jerry: Really? It felt good
