Sketch

One of my favourite bars is definitely Sketch, all its different rooms, 5 bars and restaurants, styles, mental toilets, even a Michelin star restaurant The Lecture Room & Library, all that under one roof. So I couldn't pass the occasion to take Roberto and Eliana there.

Ready to play
Most of the time I go to the east bar, but this time we got to The Parlour for Afternoon Tea, one of the best in London, Louise XV seating, including caviar and quail egg sandwich, pastries, the classic macaroons, and assortment of cakes.

The Menu
The afternoon tea included smoked salmon and Jacob’s cream, cucumber ricotta and asparagus, ham butter and Dijon mustard, and the quail egg mayonnaise and caviar. The sandwiches were quite nice. Scones were great served with clotted cream, citrus marmalade, and raspberry jam. Pastries, pink macaroon, blueberry éclair, pistachio curd and raspberry shortbread, salted homemade caramel, yuzu and macadamia tartlet, strawberry and vanilla tartlet, and marshmallows.

2001 Space Odyssey
Tea reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Opposite”

George: It became very clear to me sitting out there today, that every decision I've ever made, in my entire life, has been wrong. My life is the complete opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every of aspect of life, be it something to wear, something to eat, It's all been wrong, everywhere
Waitress : Tuna on toast, coleslaw, cup of coffee
George: Yeah. No, no, no, wait a minute, I always have tuna on toast. Nothing's ever worked out for me with tuna on toast. I want the complete opposite of on toast. Chicken salad, on rye, un-toasted with a side of potato salad and a cup of tea
Elaine: Well, there's no telling what can happen from this
Jerry: You know chicken salad is not the opposite of tuna, salmon is the opposite of tuna, because salmon swim against the current, and the tuna swim with it
George: Good for the tuna
