I went to Daphne’s the other night. They are proud of serving seasonal country cooking, natural warmth, and effortless Italian charm. The place has a conservatory roof that they open on summer, so in a sunny summer day should be an excellent al fresco experience.
I love Italian food, so always keen on trying new Italian places. We went on a party as a result we had a set menu with different options to choose, so no chance to play around and get creative with their complete repertoire.
For starters, you have a selection of Carpaccio, Bruschettas, Gamberoni (sea prawn), or a traditional Caprese salad. The main or secondi, the classic risotto ai funghi, roast chicken, Cod, or a chargrilled Bannockburn rib steak. Finally, for dolci, Budino al cioccolato, or the bestseller tiramisu.
Bistecca di manzo
Tiramisu
Good food, excellent and friendly service, but I have to say I was expecting a little bit more of the place. I consider probably the missing part was a real and succulent Italian pasta that was missing from our set menu.
The other day I was watching the Seinfeld episode “The Mom and Pop Store” where Kramer gives away all Jerry’s trainners.
Jerry: Kramer! Hey! Where's all my sneakers?
Kramer: You said take 'em.
Jerry: Not all of 'em!
Kramer: Well, obviously there was a miscommunication.
Jerry: Obviously. So what am I supposed to wear?
Kramer: Jerry, I left you a pair right here...C'mon. There, put on those boots.
Jerry: I can't wear these!
Kramer: Well, why not?
Jerry: They're uncomfortable.
Kramer: C'mon here, try 'em on.
George: Where did you get those?
Jerry: I worked a club in Dallas one time and they couldn't afford to pay me so they gave me these. Oh, I can't wear these! They look ridiculous!
Kramer: Ah, you look like a cowboy! Huh?
Jerry: But I don't wanna be a cowboy!
