El Museo del Jamon...

Going to Madrid and not eating Iberico is waisting your time. One of the places to find these amazing cured meats is El Museo del Jamon. They are all over Madrid with 12 different locations, with a consistent quality, the first one was opened in 1978. It’s not a michellin restaurant, but it’s the perfect place to go grab a beer and have a bocadillo de iberico (iberico Panini), or just an iberico sample, so you can degust lomo, chorizo, paleta, and jamon.

Just a few Hams

I went a couple times, tried almost everything they have, my favourites are the Bocadillo de Jamon Iberico (Iberico Ham Panini), and the Iberico sample. Also tried the Tortilla, and the Paella as a tapas, not good in my option, so I would suggest to stick with the cured meats.

These cured meats remind me the Seinfeld episode “The Blood” where George is combining sex with food.

George: So eh, what do you say?
Tara: I guess we could use some food in our lovemaking.
George: Ok, we got your...got your strawberries, your chocolate sauce, your pastrami on rye with mustard, your honey...
Tara: Wait wait wait, pastrami on rye with mustard?
George: Oh yeah yeah, don't you know they used pastrami in that movie 9 weeks? Remember the pastrami scene?
Tara: No.
George: Well, maybe it was Ghostbusters? Where ever it was, it worked!
