I decided to try the Chicken burger at Nando’s. I have been in the place in several occasions but always ended asking for chicken wings or a Peri-Peri chicken. The legendary house of Portuguese Peri-Peri chicken, with many shops around the UK. The specialty flame grilled chicken, with their secret sauce based on spices, herbs, and African birds eye chilli. Each restaurant has its own personality, and the chain holds the largest South African collection in the UK.

I usually asked for the chicken wings, but this time I decided to give it a try to the chicken breast fillet in pita bread, and added cheese.

Pita Chicken Breast Burger
The verdict, not good at all, I love chicken and like a lot Nando’s Peri-Peri chicken and the chicken wings which are quite good, but the chicken breast pitta was completely dry, and the breast is too small for the pita bread, so most of the time I was eating bread with salad. The cheese was plain cheddar which gives no personality.
The damage, 9.20 quids for the chicken burger, chips, and a coke.
The conclusion, I will go back to Nando’s but will keep with the chicken wings or the Peri-Peri chicken, the chips aren't bad and with the Peri-Peri salt is an interesting combination. I will have to give them a disappointing 4 in my scale to the South African chain.
Chicken chains remind me the Seinfeld episode “The Chicken Roaster”.
Jerry: What's going on in there?
Kramer: What?
Jerry: The light!
Kramer: Oh the red, its the chicken roaster sign, its right across my window.
Jerry: Can't you shut the shades?
Kramer: They are shut.
