    About Time for a Chinese

Please don’t ASK

I will be in the next couple of weeks in Hull for work, it's not so bad as I will spend only from Tuesdays to Thursdays. My first culinary experience in the area was an Italian chain called ASK. They opened in 1992 with the objective of serving simple but delicious Italian food in a contemporary but stylish ambiance.

The Menu

Loved the upside down specials

Got there with a group of colleagues, share some pints and then ordered food. For starters, I hadd the mozzarella and prosciutto crostini, quite simple and not good to be honest, I can prepare a better one in my flat. Also, I tried the calamari, probably the best of the dishes but yet simple, and the classic bruschetta which was ok.

Next I decided to go for a pizza, my option again prosciutto and baby mozzarella, a little bit better, but still didn’t surprise me, it is an ok pizza nothing special. Finally their version of insalata tricolore, tomato, avocado, baby mozzarella, rocket, red onion, spinach, red pepper all drizzled with pesto dressing which didn’t surprise me.

Ok place, regular food, I wouldn’t go if I have any other option to be honest.

I don’t know why but the experience reminded me the Seinfeld episode “The Pie”.

Health Inspector: All right, I'm looking for someone named Poppie.
Audrey: Uh, who are you?
Health Inspector: Board of health, we've had several complaints.
Jerry: Oh, about the... uh!
Health Inspector: Are you Poppie?
Poppie: I'm Poppie.
Health Inspector: I think you'd better come with me.
Poppie: What's the problem?
Audrey: What do they want from Poppie?
Jerry: Well, Poppie's a little sloppy.
