    About Time for a Chinese

Mi Buenos Aires en Wimbledon

Elaine's down there causing all kinds of commotion. Somehow she got a hold of his recipes and she says she's gonna drive him out of business! The Soup Nazi said that now that his recipes are out, he's not gonna make anymore soup! He's moving out of the country, moving to Argentina! No more soup, Jerry! No more for us!
Newman (Seinfeld episode “The Soup Nazi”)

Buenos Aires is an Argentine steakhouse chain with 6 restaurants in London and 2 more not too far from the outskirts of the M25. We went to the Wimbledon place, it was packed, Friday night, lots of people eating out, dimmed lights, wooden décor, some old photos and tango dancers paintings. The beef is imported from Argentina, it comes refrigerated but not frozen to assure the meat doesn’t lose any of its quality and flavour.

Quilmes time
I got a Quilmes, it was really cold, just like the ones we are used to at the other side of the pond. Marisol got a Malbec and couldn’t stop praising the wine as well. We started with some chorizo and morcilla. Chorizo really nice, sadly only one portion. On the other hand the morcilla was ok, a bit cold and it was sweet, not too into sweet black pudding to be honest. Finally a provoleta, it was really, really, really nice. The stringy melted cheese in combination of slow cooked tomato and a touch of oregano, just great.

For main we shared the Buenos Aires steak sampler. 6oz of each of their four special cuts. The cuadril, ancho, chorizo, and lomo. All the steaks were amazing, top quality beef, perfectly cooked.

Steak time
A great place for meat lovers. All the staff was from Argentina, which is not so easy after expanding that much to still keep the authenticity of the place. Great service and the food is top quality.
