    About Time for a Chinese

This Little Piggy Went to Silver Palm

Windy City again, this time was more like Frozen City, and finally I got to Silver Palm, I tried to go a couple times before but the place was closed. I’ve been wanting to go since I watched Anthony Bourdain No Reservation episode “Chicago” in order to try the Three Little Pig sandwich, and as Tony said there is evil in the best possible way.

Restaurant Car

The place is a proper restaurant car (railroad passenger car that serves food). The sandwich was created by one of the waiters on a slow night, and is a pork three way, smoked ham, breaded pork tenderloin, bacon, fied eggs, and gruyere cheese. If there is a recipe for an atomic bomb this will be quite similar.

Inside

I got to the place order the C&ORR Warm Goat Cheese and the sandwich that in contrast to its name is huge. Unbelievable, excellent sandwich, one of the best I have had, please don’t waste your energy in anything else there and focus on that tasty monster.

The three little pig

Huge might not be big enough

A pig reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Bris” where Kramer saw a pig-man in the hospital.

Kramer: The pig-man! I saw a pig-man! He was just lying there and then he woke up. He looked up at me and made this horrible sound.
George: Kramer, what the hell are you talking about?
Kramer: I'm talking about the pigman, George. I went into the wrong room and there he was.
George: A pigman?
Kramer: Yes, a pigman. Half pig, half man.
Elaine: That's nice, Kramer...
