I'm not sure how I came with this place, I think they are ranked in top of the list in Urbanspoon or read it somewhere, but the fact is that I cross through the entire Charleston to Sullivan’s Island in order to have diner in Poe's Tavern. What is Poe famous for apparently burgers and beers, what were you expecting ravens and poems?

Light read in the toilet |
A relax place, dim lights, with a mysterious atmosphere, good selection of beers draught or bottled, and of course chicken or beef burgers. Got my beer and ordered a black cat, half pound burger, ground in house, ordered medium rare, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, chilli, applewood bacon, and pimiento cheese, as a side onion strides and also French fries with cheese.

The burger was nice, the meat was cooked medium, but it was tasty, I would have preferred it medium rare. Bacon and pimiento cheese were quite nice. Fries and onion were ok.
Burger time |
The place is nice, the food isn't bad, you can spend a nice eve with friends chatting, drinking beers, and perhaps sharing “What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore meant in croaking, nevermore."

All these Islands in Charleston reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Subway”
Kramer: All right, Coney Island. Okay, you can take the B or the F and switch for the N at Broadway Lafayette, or you can go over the bridge to DeKalb and catch the Q to Atlantic Avenue, then switch to the IRT 2, 3, 4 or 5, but don't get on the G. See, that's very tempting, but you wind up on Smith and 9th street, then you got to get on the R
Elaine: Couldn't he just take the D straight to Coney Island?
Kramer: Well, yeah
