One area of London that I’m not too familiar is Kensington. The other day I was there with Marisol’s family and we decided after walking without an specific place in mind to have diner at Postino.

Not much to say just like their web site, family owned restaurant, friendly Italian service, the owner/manager came to our table to check everything was in order, so we were expecting home made Italian cuisine.

We shared some calamari fritti to start. Good flavour, but not good battered, they were a bit rubbery, the tomato sauce to dip the calamari was excellent, home made, nice spicy touch.

For main I went for a salsiccia pizza and Marisol for the homemade tortellini. The pizza was ok, nothing extraordinaire, I wouldn’t recommend it. The tortellini was really good. A tomato based sauce quite nice, homemade pasta, fresh, great execution.

Definitely a rollercoaster, some good dishes, other ones not so successful. I wouldn’t come back but if you want to try it at least stay on the pasta side.
Italy reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Maestro”
Kramer: Oh Maestro, you, what are you doing? You don't have to do this. Do you believe this Maestro?
Maestro: It's nothing
Kramer: Yeah, you know you haven't been around for a while
Maestro: Oh yeah, I've been at my house in Tuscany
Kramer: Oh Tuscany huh? Hear that Jerry? That's in Italy
Jerry: I hear it's ah beautiful there
Maestro: Well if you're thinking of getting a place there don't bother. There's really nothing available
