One of my favourite sandwiches is the grilled chorizo one. Recently I read in Young & Foodish that the Brindisa Chorizo Grill stall in Borough market was one of the best ones in town. I have been plenty of times in Borough market how can I missed that one, probably my obsession with the grilled cheese sandwich was too much, so it might be a good chance to have a little variety in my options when visiting the most popular market in London.
I met my friend Armando who practically lives in the market as he’s there all the time. We did the queue, which was quite large by the moment I arrived, finally got to order the Spanish snack, you have to options single or double, and yes I went for the double, double chorizo, double pimientos de piquillo (piquillo peppers), and topped with rocket everything held by a roll. The personnel probably tired as it was a little late and almost closing time served the sandwich without any enthusiasm, they just reminded me Seinfeld stand up bit about airport security, what a squad of savvy motivated personnel!
Where the magic takes place
I have had other chorizo sandwiches around town but this one is great. I think the pimientos touch with a drizzle of olive oil and the rocket makes the difference.
The Options
Now thanks to Brindisa I have a huge dilemma when visiting the market and deciding the snack of the day. Great place to go and definitely one of the best snacks in town.
Chorizo reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Blood” when Kramer and Newman are making sausages.
Jerry: What is this?
Kramer: We're making sausages.
Jerry: I thought you were going to watch a video.
Kramer: Yeah, an instructional video about how to make your own sausages.
Jerry: Kramer, I'm not in a mood for this.
Kramer: All right, all right. Newman, let's go grab some mail sacks and haul these beauties out of here.
Jerry: Blood over there, sausages over here. I'm living in a slaughter house.
