I'll have the Clams Casino
George Costanza (Seinfeld episode “The Betrayal”)
We left Cannes to Monaco, but decided to do a quick detour for wine tasting to Tourrettes Sur Loup a hilltop medieval villeage perfect to a quick stroll full of history. We went to La Ferme des Courmettes, a step and windy 4km road to the top and at the end a lovely organic goat cheese maker. Then we got to Domaine St Joseph, a lovely small wine and olive oil producter.
Wine Time |
Then we got to enjoy a nice day in Monaco, full of luxury. You can go to the Monte Carlo casino for a bet, wander around the city and see where the Grand Prix takes place, or visit Le Rocher for a view to the Grimaldi’s palace.
Luna Rosa |
Last stop was Nice, plenty of things to do, but probably the best is to wander around vieux Nice, visit the Cours Saleya market to admire the flowers, visit and enjoy the view from the top of the Modern Art Museum, go for a quick bit and preferably a chickpea pancake called Socca in Chez Rene Socca, try at least 3 of the 70 flavours ice creams at Fenocchio, and finally have a lovely Italian food in the Luna Rossa I will have to recommend the Poelee Bella Luna Linguini, exquisite, be prepare to spend €30pp.
