Their menu full of Tex Mex from traditional tamales, to
quesadillas, classic nachos, tacos, and enchiladas. We got a basket full of
tortillas and asked for a guacamole which was made table side, nice touch! The guacamole
was excellent, good spicy kick, traditional Latino American flavours. But I was with the
objective of giving a try to their Fajitas Famosas (Famous Fajitas), would it
be possible? Are they better than the Lupe’s ones? As soon as I saw the options
I knew which one to order Filet Mignon fajitas, grilled over a mequite fire,
fresh tortillas, rice, frijoles a la charra, pico de gallo, and more guacamole,
yes please more guacamole.

The Fajitas were excellent, nice flavour, the meat was
great, juicy, tasty, in conclusion Legen… wait for it Dary. I can see my friends dilemma,
both places are great, I think the difference is how they prepare the meat, in
Lupe they marinated in lime and pepper, while Pappasito’s goes for a more straight
forward approach letting the meat speak for itself.

Mignon Fajitas |
As regards to me a very difficult decision, I loved both
places, could eat in either to be honest, I probably tend more to Lupe as it
was the first ones I tried, but having said that the Pappasito’s ones are
excellent and they will be on my list as soon as I’m back in Texas.
So judge by yourself, I can tell you something the Filet
Mignon fajitas are excellent and you won’t be disappointed.

Christmas reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Strike”
Elaine: What?
George: Nothing. It's a card from my dad
Elaine: What is it? "Dear son, Happy Festivus."
What is Festivus?
George: It's nothing, stop it
Jerry: When George was growing up
George: Jerry, No!
Jerry: His father
George: No!
Jerry: Hated all the commercial and religious aspects of
Christmas, so he made up his own holiday
Elaine: Ohhhh… and another piece of the puzzle falls
into place
George: Alright
Jerry: And instead of a tree, didn't your father put up an aluminium
pole?
George: Jerry! Stop it!
Jerry: And weren't there a feats of strength that always ended
up with you crying?
George: I can't take it anymore! I'm going to work! Are you
happy now?

Excellent take on the fajitas at Pappasitos. I agree that you can't go wrong with either place. Houston is a great restaurant scene, and the folks who own Pappasitos and Lupe are a big reason why the food is so good here.
