A place I really wanted to go for drinks in the West End was The Doodle Bar. Located in Battersea in an old warehouse, irreverent, with a East End look, and a huge chalkboard so you can express and let go your inner artist. A big bar, with loud music, plenty of doodlers, Street Kitchen in command of the bite area during lunch time, and if you were lucky enough Patty & Bun did a stop for months there before moving to his new pop up in Soho at the Endurance pub. Even an arts and event space Testbed1 is in the compound, and if that’s not enough a ping pong table is available in the premises.

I went with a couple friends we got plenty of booze, and had the chance to try Patty & Bun chicken wings and Trip chips with rosemary salt which were superb, one of the best wings I have had, and the fries Heston style, crispy cutting glass outside and soft inside. Sadly the burgers sold out when I went for food, but I’m planning visiting their new pop up pretty soon.

A must if you want to have fun in the west side of town, couple beers, scribble a bit, ad enjoy the music.

If you want to know more about the Patty & Bun watch this documentary prepared by 12 Flavours of London, and hurry up if you want to catch them in The Endurance as they will be there apparently for two more weeks only.
Doodle reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Doodle”
George: Don't you see what this is?
Jerry: Yeah! It's a doodle
George: Yeah, a doodle of me, look at the size of the nose, the ears, all my features are distorted
Jerry: Oh! It's an affectionate caricature
George: I'm grotesque, I look like a troll
Jerry: It's just a drawing
George: Don't you see what this says? How can you possibly like somebody, if you think they look like this?
