"It's a pizza place where you make your own pie! We give you the dough, the sauce, the cheese, you pound it, slap it, you flip it up into the air, you put your toppings on and you slide it into the oven! Sounds good, huh?"
Cosmo Kramer (Seinfeld episode “The Couch”)
I’ve wanted to visit Sacro Cuore since Mara recommended the place. My friend Mara in my opinion is just like the Pizza police, she is from Naples so as you can imagine I trust her blindly any recommendations in that area, and she told me that as soon as she tried the pizza she started to cry as the flavours reminded her home in Napoli.

The place is warm, a big cartoon picture of Naples covers one of the walls, a big beautiful pizza oven, and all the friendly and lovely Italian staff ready to help. Good selection of pizzas, I hesitated for few minutes trying to choose the pizza to have. Finally I went for a Diavola and Marisol for the Tartufata.

The Diavola was amazing, a perfect rustic Neapolitan pizza. The dense tomato sauce with the lovely and creamy Italian Mozzarella, some Parmesan cheese to give a kick to the flavour, fresh chilli to spicy things up, the subtle touch of basil and olive oil. Perfection

I got a good two slides of the Tartufata, the flavour was superb, I think the edge on the flavour is the premium buffalo DOP mozzarella they use, and the earthy flavour of the mushrooms with the touch of the truffle oil, just amazing.

To end the night a really good home made Limoncello, a couple sorbets, and a nice tiramisu.

A great night full of Italian flavours, Sacro Cuore is the real deal, probably the closest to a Pizza Napoletana you will find in London.
