Frank’s is back

A huge success last year was Frank’s Café, this year the Campari bar is back, same location, at the top (10th floor) of the Peckham multi-storey car part on Rye Lane. The café, is part of the Bold Tendencies sculpture project. No bookings, but no worries the place is huge, just be sure you see the map and know how to get there as it is easy to get lost.

The bar
I waited weeks before going to have a nice sunny day in the city, finally the perfect day arrived, a maze to get to the top, smell of piss on a couple of the stairs on your way up, but finally you get to the top, to an open, irreverent, cool, and vibrant bar. Loyal clientele and groupies, as let’s face it the place is quite far from the city and Peckham is not so easily access.

The view
The bar
Amazing view of the city skyline, got a couple Campari and Orange, and then moved to Meantime beer, the logistics the day I went was a bit short, they ran out of ice, and also the lager, which was a bit frustrating as we wanted to stay a bit longer enjoying the day and having a couple drinks more but that limited basically all options.

Campari time
The place is really cool, and if the day is sunny you’re for a treat, hope the logistic issue was a onetime flaw and not a recurrent thing as that might impact the future success of the Campari Bar. Frank will be open until September.

More Campari
The café reminds me Frank Costanza, and one of my favourite Seinfeld episodes is “The Little Kicks”

Frank: Okay, where's my boy?
George: Oh my God
Frank: I'm sitting at home, reading a periodical, and this is the call I get? My son is a bootlegger?
George: Ow! Dad
Frank: Who put you up to this, was it her?
Elaine: All right. Wait a minute. I think you've got it backwards
Frank: My George isn't clever enough to hatch a scheme like this
Elaine: You got that right
Frank: What the hell does that mean?
Elaine: That means whatever the hell you want it to mean
Frank: You saying you want a piece of me?
Elaine: I could drop you like a bag of dirt
Frank: You want a piece of me? You got it!
