    About Time for a Chinese

Here we go again Madrid – Episode IX: Tapas, Tapas, Tapas [On The Road: Madrid]

You know, its not fair people are seated first come first served, It should be based on who's hungriest. I feel like just going over there and taking some food off somebody's plate
Elaine Benes [Seinfeld episode “The Chinese Restaurant”)

I’m amazed all the good places to eat in Madrid. Every year I go and discover a new place, new dishes, and new tapas. But it's also good to come back to the usual suspects and get my favourite dishes. So during my last trip these were some of my highlights.

Juana La Loca

Back again in the La Latina and of course in Juana La Loca. One of my favourite spots in Madrid featuring Basque cuisine. This time I went this time for huevos revueltos con setas perretxikos (Basque country mushrooms), some eggs and French fries with goat cheese, the classic Tortilla patatas cebollas confitadas, also one of my favourite suckling pigs in the Spanish capital, and finally desert, a cake filled with arequipe and banana ice cream. Everything was delicious as usual.

La Trucha

Probably the best tortilla in Madrid they make it to order, it’s simply delicious. Also while you are in La Trucha also get the eggplant tempura with honey superb.

Taverna los Huevos de Lucio

A friend recommendation, Taverna los huevos de Lucio is in Cava Baja surrounded by a hundred other tapa places. Perfect place to go for tapas, just be aware the place was  completely packed. Their specialty eggs with chistorras, they were beautiful, simple, but tasty. Also while there go for the fried goat cheese with tomato, amazing, the cheese completely melted, the bitterness of the tomato, in harmony with oregano and some honey balsamic.

Meson el Lacon

I also went back to El Lacon I had to get the shark one more time, the adobo is just amazing. Another thing I got to try was some Sotopalacios black pudding, just excellent.
