Burger Wars Episode LXXXVI: The WC Special [BurgeReview]

Why did you take a picture of a mustard stain?
George Costanza (Seinfeld episode “The Package”)

The world cup is almost over and so the latest special burger in Byron The Ronaldo. We came back to our local Chiswick restaurant to try it.

Football Time
The Ronaldo is a traditional double cheeseburger with crispy bacon, fried onions, American cheese, and ketchup and American mustard.

Burger Time
The verdict, much better than the previous one, huge burger this time which is not common for Byron’s burger sizes, and classic burger joint flavour.

The damage, 12.95 quid for the special burger

The conclusion, probably the biggest burger I have had from Byron. Nice flavours, perfectly cooked. The bread collapsed with all the juices and the weight of the components, and I didn't care too much for the ketchup and American mustard as it was too regular, having said that burger purist will love it. I will give them a 7.5 over 10 a nice big burger

Burger Wars Episode LXXXIII: B-Rex in Town [BurgeReview]

Hey! A dinosaur!
Jerry Seinfeld (Seinfeld episode “The Doll”)

Back in Byron for another special, this time I went to their new restaurant in Chiswick, place was completely packed, windows gave a nice view to the high street and also the front ones can be opened probably a good idea on summer time.

New Special
The burger in question is the B-Rex, a 6oz patty with an onion ring, crispy smoked bacon, American cheese, jalapeños, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce, and mayo.

B-Rex
The verdict, as usual Byron brought a lovely special, really nice burger, perfectly cooked, good service, and great food.

The damage, 10.25 quid for the Byronosaurus Rex burger.

The conclusion, again really nice, perfectly cooked medium rare, full of juices, jalapeño touch was great, and quite nice BBQ sauce. Definitely bacon and American cheese a classic wonderful marriage. Fries were also great. The Byron team got a solid 9 over 10 with this special. Hurry just a couple days left as they will have the B-Rex until the 28 April.

Burger Wars LXXIII: Byron Strikes Back [BurgeReview]

Come on, this is a great idea. Look at the characters. You've got all these freaks on the show. A woman with a moustache? I mean, who wouldn't tune in to see a women with a moustache? You've for the tallest man in the world; a guy who's just a head
Cosmo Kramer (Seinfeld episode “The Pitch”)

The new Byron special for this Movember is no other than the Mo’shroom. In order to get it I went to their branch in Fulham. The layout is similar to their other branches, quite busy on Sunday lunchtime.

Byron
Mirror mirror on the wall
The burger a 6oz patty with Portobello mushroom, Emmenthal cheese, streaky bacon, shredded iceberg, red onion, and cep aioli.

Mo...
Mo Burger
The verdict, perfectly cooked medium rare, nice flavours, melted cheese was a good touch, and with the Portobello mushroom a nice combo. Sauce blended nicely not overpowering the rest of the flavours.

The damage, 9.95 quid for the Byron’s special

The conclusion, another great special for Byron. Highly recommended, I will give the Mo’shroom a 9 in my scale.

Burger time
Hurry up as it’s until the end of the month, and remember for every burger 50p goes to Mobember.

Burger Wars Episode L: The Smith Queen [BurgeReview]

I started all these burger hunt/madness thanks to a visit to Byron, not a huge fan of the place, however, every time they have a special burger I do enjoy it a lot, so imagine my excitement when I discovered that Fred Smith, yes Admiral Codrington Master Yoda of burgers, contributed with them for their Queen Diamond Jubilee special.

Byron
The new special
The burger in question The Chilli Queen, a 6oz patty, green chilli, American cheese, shredded iceberg, chipotle mayo, and glazed bun. As a side I went for the infamous onion rings and the fried courgettes.

Chilli Queen
Sides
The verdict, Mr Smith you’re a genius, I can not love that burger more, the spicy kick, with the traditional melted cheese, and the special mayo with the iceberg lettuce is food porn. Again the onion rings too oily, I could fried another batch with the oil on the bottom of my rings’ container, and the courgettes not my thing, they are too soggy.

The damage, 8,75 quid for that magnificent burger.

The conclusion, Byron you did it again, this is by far the best special burger the chain has had, actually is the best burger they have had in the menu since they open. It was perfectly cooked, and worth every bite. The burger is going to be on the menu from May 3rd to June 5th so hurry and eat as many as you can of this limited edition. I will give her Majesty burger a solid 9 on my scale.

One more look at her Majesty
The Queen reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Engagement”

George: Well, you got no place to go. I'll tell you what your problem is, you brought your queen out too fast. What do you think? She's one of these feminists looking to get out of the house? No, the queen is old fashioned, likes to stay home, cook, take care of her man, make sure he feels good
Liz: Checkmate
George: I don't think we should see each other anymore
